Excessive Under Arm Sweating

Excessive sweating is also known as hyperhidrosis. This is characterized by perspiration or sweating more than the usual needs of the body.

There are two types of hyperhidrosis: primary and secondary.

Primary hyperhidrosis occurs without any underlying reason and results in excessive sweating in the palms, soles, underarms and face.

Secondary hyperhidrosis can be because of underlying medical conditions including infection, metabolic disorders, endocrine disorders, spinal cord injuries, neoplastic diseases, neurological conditions, cardiovascular disorders, respiratory disorders, stress and anxiety.

The treatment of such kind of hyperhidrosis is based on treatment of underlying condition.

Excessive underarm sweating can be treated with BOTOX.
It usually lasts for 4-6 months.
